Expertise
Dr. Dongah Kim is a fertility specialist and gynaecologist in the final stages of her subspecialty training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI). She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and holds a Master of Reproductive Medicine (with Excellence) from the University of New South Wales.
Her passion for fertility began as a medical student during an exchange at the Oxford Fertility Unit through the University of Oxford. There she was introduced to the intricate processes of Assisted Reproduction by leaders within the field and observed early cases of fertility preservation in young cancer patients. Since then, she undertook specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Auckland and moved to Sydney in 2023 to undertake her CREI training with IVF Australia. She has also trained across hospitals in the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.
Dr. Dongah Kim has a strong interest in evidence-based medicine and is the lead author of several research publications, including a Cochrane Systematic Review on hormone therapy and the risk of endometrial hyperplasia or cancer. Cochrane Reviews are a scholarly synthesis of primary research and are internationally recognised as the highest standard in evidence-based health care.
Known for her compassionate and thoughtful approach, she is committed to providing personalised, high-quality fertility care.

The Certificate of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) is a highly specialised qualification held by fewer than 5% of specialists across Australia and New Zealand. Attaining CREI requires an additional three years of advanced subspecialty training following the six years needed to qualify as a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. In total, CREI specialists commit a minimum of 15 years to medical training in order to achieve this qualification.
This intensive program includes comprehensive clinical training across at least two accredited units, as well as rigorous written and oral examinations and a substantive research component. CREI subspecialists are uniquely equipped with the expertise and experience necessary to deliver the highest standard of infertility care.

An initial fertility consultation is an important first step, whether you’re ready to begin treatment or simply exploring your options. It’s an opportunity to understand your reproductive health, ask questions, and receive expert guidance tailored to your individual goals and circumstances.
Many patients find reassurance just from having a clear plan, even if no immediate intervention is needed. Whether you’ve been trying to conceive for a while or are planning for the future, this consultation can offer clarity, identify any potential concerns early, and empower you to make informed decisions moving forward.
